Put Your Big Girl Panties On!
My passion for singing and song writing is no casual love affair. It is what I believe to be, what the making of a life long marriage would look like. Unquestionable determination and commitment to my craft is my everyday jam. But like a marriage, it is dedication and a lot of hard work. So even though my love for this amazing lifestyle and creative process is strong, it can at times be daunting.
It is in these moments that I am forced to put my big girl panties on and dig a little deeper. Which is exactly what I did with my latest singles that I have launching right now. Putting my everyday life on hold and jumping into the creative process with both feet for over a year has been exhilarating, exhausting and absolutely liberating.
As an artist I am grateful for the opportunity to create and share my music. I believe that art in any form starts with raw beauty that transpires and connects with an audience in a way that is undeniable. And in doing that, an artist must be comfortably uncomfortable with being vulnerable and on display for the world to see.
The risk is high, but the reward is so so big. Like anything in life worth having, you must be willing to work for it and sometimes that work includes being brave and putting my big girl panties on!
So the release of my new singles is the accumulation of my year of BRAVE. Risking it all for my love of singing, writing and sharing my music is the ultimate reward and the growth that I have achieved as a singer / song writer, has been one of the biggest gifts to me this last year.
